Verizon ESN numbers

May sound like a silly question but here we go.... I much rather buy a cell phone out of a legitimate verzion store but i thought id ask. Where i live, there is a constant selling of brand new Touch Pro's in certain places on the street.lol. If you buy something from other then a store, will that ESN number stay with the phone our is there someway to reprogram it? If this is possible, i would have bought one a long time ago. i think they are selling brand new for $50 but god only knows where they came from. I am actually waiting for my out of stock TP2 to come so this is purely curiousity....

Hi, welcome to ppc geeks.

It is illeagal (and against site rules) to talk about esn cloning (or reprogramming the ESN).

Hope you like your TP2 when it comes and have a nice night

ESN cloning is illegal, so I would advise against that. Verizon may be able to help you, however.

If the phone you buy is marked as lost or stolen in the system, you might get some very strange looks if you try to activate it.
