I'm looking for a good DVD library application

Does anyone know of a good PPC app that is designed to keep track of large DVD or video collections? I have hundreds of DVDs and would like a Pocket PC version of Collectorz.com Movie Collector or Delicious Library. I'm currently using ListPro to keep track of my collection, but it's not as full featured as I'd like. I'd like an application that would not only store information about each title in my collection, but also a picture of the DVD cover.

I seem to recall seeing an application like this several years ago, but I can't seem to find one now.

Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!

Matt

Nevermind

I think I found a good one! I'm at work right now so I can't download it and test it, but it's the DVD Profile Mobile by Invelos Software (http://www.invelos.com/dvdpromobile/Info.aspx)

It looks like there is a Windows desktop application as well. Put your DVDs in the desktop app and it'll sync with the PPC app. You can make changes to either DB and sync the changes back and forth.

And it doesn't have the butt-ugly interface that most PPC DVD apps seem to have...

I'll try this out when I get home.

I use DVD Profiler on my desktop PC and sync to my PPC. It is an amazing program. It's very easy to add DVDs to the desktop version. All you have to do is enter the barcode from the DVD and download its profile. It automatically populates all of the information for the DVD including the cover scans. The sync to PPC has many options that allow you to control the amount of space you can spare for DVD profile information. It even gives you the option to store the data on your storage card. The only issue I have found with the mobile software is it does not allow you to navigate using the joystick/D-pad. You either have to use your stylus or fingers to use it.

Since you use that software, maybe you can answer this question: Does it support barcode scanners? I couldn't find any info on scanners on their website, which obviously worries me...

On my PC, I am currently using Collectorz.com's Movie Collector application. I bought a cheap-o barcode scanner off ebay. I used that scanner to put all my DVD info in to Movie Collector. I could scan up to 500 barcodes and then dump them all in to Movie Collector at one time and the app would download all the movie information in one big batch. I would like that same ease-of-use in DVD Profiler.

It would be a pain in the arse to input every barcode by hand in the new DVD Profiler app!

DVD Profiler app!

The software supports barcode scanners that act as a keyboard wedge. That means they have a connector that plugs inline with the keyboard and provide the scanned data as if it were coming from the keyboard. If your scanner connects this way and you are able to scan correct data into a program like wordpad then it will work. If not, then I'm afraid it won't. Here's hoping for a software upgrade.

Have u folks check out the freeware cataloging app Libra? You can get it from the getlibra website.

Supports scanning via CueCat (or any other keyboard scanners) and even your webcam - and it looks pretty.

are you able to use this with your wm device also and sync it to your desktop?
If so this is the best one I've seen yet - and free makes it even better.

I went with DVD Profiler. It's not my ideal solution, but it's the closest I was able to find. You have to buy both the desktop app AND the mobile app. That wouldn't be such a bad deal if the mobile app didn't suck so much ***. The mobile app CAN'T stand on it's own. You have to own the desktop version in order to use the mobile app. The reason is that the mobile app is really a view-only application. You enter all your data into the desktop, then sync it with the mobile, then you can view it on the mobile.
Because the mobile version is so lame, it hurts having to pay for it as well as having to pay for the full desktop version.
But, as I said, it's still the best I've seen. Until someone actually produces a solid DVD cataloging app for the mobile platform, this is as good as it gets from what I've been able to find.
