Is it possible to creat something similiar to Sony's X1 Fish Panel App?
 

Has everybody seen the Sony X1 fish panel. I have searched the forums but I have not found any information or development on this. There was a little bit of information over at XDA, but I was curious if anyone had any information or interest in developing something similar to this program for our HTC devices. I was thinking it would be cool to have when the phone wakes up and is locked to have as a notification program (similar to Sony's X1). Any thoughts or interest?

I have no doubt that is a power hungry application.

Either way, please describe the functionality you are looking for.
I'm thinking something like this:

when awakened by a button press you will get the following:

• 3d pre-rendered fish with a couple of animations each (turn, slow, fast)
• Different fish representing different things (VM Fish, SMS Fish, Email Fish, etc...)
• Chase all the fish off the screen to unlock it (This may be annoying)
• An Incoming call fish that is perhaps blinking or changing color, and you touch it to answer. maybe the fish has a small thumbnail or number beside it?
• anything else?

You are correct with most of the operations. However, I was thinking that when the device wakes up that the fish panel would be shown and serve as a locking program, now how to unlock, I am not sure but I do agree that chasing all the fish off the screen would be rather annoying. It could be as simple as a hold down and and unlock or possibly a fish that is designated as an unlock fish that when it is touched it is unlocked. You are correct with the idea of individual fish representing certain notifications (VM, SMS, email etc..), however when an incoming call takes place I feel that it should automatically unlock and revert back to the normal incoming call screen. Basically it could have the same functionality as S2U2 (great application), but with the 3D fish added.

If this is all you want, maybe you just want to create a canned film of 3D Fish, make them Moving GIF files, then have them autorotate in S2U2...
