PPCGeeks - WM6.1 text messaging problem...please help

hi all. just cooked a custom rom for my wife's ppc6700/apache with great thx to ppckitchen.org. it's pretty awesome except for the text messaging. w/ the previous OS, when you start typing a name in the "to" field, several names w/numbers would automatically pop up & you can choose the contact to insert. now with wm6.1, nothing pops up.

if u type a few letters, then hit the space bar, one name shows at the bottom. then you have to scroll down until u find the right contact. of course the more letters you type, the list gets shorter.

this is a lot slower than the old text messing pop-up. is there a way to get that functionality back? please help my wife's whining. thx!!! (jokes r welcome too. bring it on.)
