Email help request
I have been using a pop3 account (CFL.RR.COM) on my Touch as well as on my stand alone pocket pc and I can receive incoming mail on pop-server.cfl.rr.com without a problem and lately (past week) I cannot sent outgoing email out on smtp-server.cfl.rr.com and I cannot the error message on my Touch "The message(s) could not be sent. Check that you have network coverage and that your accountinformationis correct. Then try again."
Anyone have any ideas how to resolve this? Thanks |
Re: Email help request
Couple of things I can think of is:
1. check to see if smtp needs to be authenicated and using the same log in info, sometime smtp needs SSL also. 2. make sure the smtp server name has not changed Other than that, without looking at more details, is all I can come up with. |

Still having the problem or did you get it fixed?

Re: Email help request
I, too, use RoadRunner for my POP3 connection (socal.rr.com) and have found that they prevent users from using their outbound server (smtp-server.socal.rr.com) with wireless devices (i.e PPCs). It has something to do with spam prevention. What I ended up doing was using my wireless provider's (VZW) outbound server. Took me a couple of days to figure that one out. Give that a try and see if that helps.
