Someone Anyone Please Help!!!!!!
 
I just purchased a sprint htc touch, (I work advanced tech support for sprint) and I've been playing with the 6800 (mogul) for about a month. I have a lot of applications that im trying to download to both but they are all setup.xml. when i try to open them on my touch to launch them i get a

its just a xml file....................
i also have tried some of the cab files and it says that this file is not a valid pocket pc application.......



im trying to start editing the device and have no clue where to start.... can anyone help please!!!

I believe you are trying to install aps that aredesigned for a smartphone device, not for a windows mobile device, which is what you have.

Thinking the same thing......

I've never installed and xml file, can only view it in PIE. Only installable files are .cab, .exe, some are in .zip, some must be installed thru activesync. And some are .jad and .jar for java, mr advanced technician:scratch:

What you want to look for is a .cab file. The .xml files for PPC apps contain information and variables related to installation, and are not meant to be opened. I know you also said that you tried some cab files, however if they don't work they may be for smartphone only like the person above said.

wow thanks for the sarcasm guys.. like i stated this is my first windows mobile device, i have been carrying around treos for about three years. but i found how to do it thanks........


one more question (if someone one wants to help me instead of belittling me) ive been reading in the forums about doing a flash (is this something required), ive installed the vista cube, freestyl and a couple of other apps but i cant find anything on the flash. Did I miss a step in updating my touch..........please help

thanks instead of syncing over the whole zip file i did it file by file/////thanks

Its not something thats required
