Possible to tether phone and use DSL at same time?
 

I've been wondering this for a long while now and am no sure where or what to even search for on Google - maybe someone could offer some help. Is it possible to use the data connection on my PPC and DSL connection on the same computer simultaneously? What I want is to be downloading things on my DSL line at full speed while using doing casual internet surfing on Firefox using the tethered phone.

Sounds strange, I know, but I just wanted to know if it is possible - though I don't need a reply limiting my download or something like that...

There is no way for your computer to tell the difference between the download and the web surfing, so it wouldn't know what connection to use. I would just stick with the DSL.

Techincally, you can. You will have two separate IP addresses and the computer can use both, but unless you have a fair bit of tcp/ip knowledge, it is pretty difficult. You can use routing tables to do it manually, mostly....

Bottom line, not really easy to do.
