Voice to Text app?
I remember seeing a thread on here regarding a ripped Voice to text app from the Android devices. I can't find the thread, anyone have a link, or info? Thanks

Re: Voice to Text app?
I'm not sure about one ripped from Android, but TellMe is what I know of.
Must have latest .net and WM 6.5 is preferred for it work fully! http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DIVJIQMZ |
Re: Voice to Text app?
yes its Tellme ... ripped from Samsung Intrepid ... and it fully works on my 6.5 ROM ... just a little distorted pics but not bad at all. very handy while driving.

Re: Voice to Text app?
Hopefully, even though this question is old, someone will still see this... I tried installing both of these on my new TP2 (Sprint w/ MinMo 6.5) and it just sits there trying to figure out what I've said.
Question: How do I know if I have the latest .net installed? I don't see it called out specifically in any of the About/Device Information screens. I want to make sure I've got everything right before I give up and uninstall them. Thanks! Nathan |

Use a file Manager and look in the Device/Windows folder. If installed, you will see "Microsoft .Net CF 3.5" Another way is go to Settings/System/Remove Programs and look for "Microsoft .Net CF 3.5" i your installed programs list...... |
Re: Voice to Text app?
How do you text with this app? I have it installed.

If you want to text someone with TellMe..... Open TellMe and tap the speak button, say text CA3SAR for example, when tellme pulls up the contact, tap the speak button again and say your message. Tellme will go through the transcribing and show what you said. If the message is correct as you said it, tap the Edit button on the lower right, then tap Send on the lower left. The blue on screen send button does not work on WinMo.... You can also tell it to call a contact....... |
Re: Voice to Text app?
Nothing showing up on either approach so I guess I don't have it. I found a guy on another board who claims to have etracted the necessary files @ <3MB as opposed to the full-on M$ install @ 6.2MB. I'm joining the place now (WinMo@MoDaCo). BTW, is the latest version 3.5???

Re: Voice to Text app?
turn off volume balancing on the mic & speak off the side of the mic (on bottom L) 5 inches, don't yell..

Re: Voice to Text app?
I installed the voice control, and while it shows up in the list of uninstallable programs, it doesn' show up under th Start menu o I don't see how to open it to adjust anything! It turns on when I hold down the Send button tho.

Re: Voice to Text app?
You can get MS .net cf 3.5 cab file from the Favorite Cabs thread stickied at the top. First page, 3rd post down. download it and save it to your card and run the cab file....

Re: Voice to Text app?
Good grief, the 3.5 .net cab says that I have a later version already installed! BTW, I was referring to the M$ Voice Control installed under the TellMe. There's an icon under the Start Menu for Tell Me but not for the Voice Control. Any other suggestions on either how to access VC to make adjustments or other ideas for making TellMe work? I love the concept and I *really* want it to work on my phone! Thanks everyone.

Re: Voice to Text app?
For some reason Tellme did not work for me at all. Maybe it disagreed with my southern accent...lol

You access Voice Command by going to Settings/Personal/Voice Command to enable it, set which progies use it and options and notifications. |
Re: Voice to Text app?
my last ROM, tellme worked as it is supposed to, but on my new ROM, 23121 build, it doesn't work at all.

Re: Voice to Text app?
not sure how this got necrobumped, but moved to winmo apps :S

Re: Voice to Text app?
OK, I've tried everything mentioned and still no-dice. So I'm giving up, as far as I can tell, this just palin does *not* work with the TP2 phone. I can sometimes get it to work for stuff like movies or weather but not for Texting which is the sole reason I wanted it.
Does anyone know of an app that will perform speech to text for use while driving? And perhaps even vice-versa? Thanks for all the suggestions guys (Gals?) but this app is just not ready for prime-time for the Sprint WinMo 6.5 TP2. Nathan |
Tell me works with windows 6.5 operating systems.
Try Flashing your phone to windows 6.5. Tellme works with windows 6.5 not windows 6.1. If you do this tellme will work. I don't like it much I which it could work through bluetooth but it does not. I wish that they would upgrade it but they haven't.

I wrote up a big info blurb on VC, Tellme, Bing I think it should help many reading this thread. "Voice Command" after install adjusts in START (Windows key) SETTINGS PERSONAL select "Voice Command" button If it's not in there, then it's not installed! It's awesome, I can't believe people don't use this more. I never press keys. Read that link above. |
Re: Voice to Text app?
The phone shipped with 6.5 installed and I did a hard reset about a week ago and it went back to it's raw 6.5 setup. The only things I have installed are a better battery monitor and TCPMP. TellMe still can't recognize anything related to texting; "Text Tammy", "Text Tammy Elkins", "Text" all fail miserably. "Movies" and "Weather" worked but I don't need/care about stuff like that.
On another subject: Has anyone found a good movie player for this phone? TCPMP works worse in 6.5 than it did in 6.1. Fewer movies are watchable now that I have a bigger/better/faster/more phone (over my 1st gen Touch) and it's maddening! Thanks! Nathan |
Re: Voice to Text app?
dude! I can't believe this program! I hate the voice, but thats nothing when compared to what I can do! it took me forever to finally get it to work, setting hardware keys and all. But once I did, couldn't believe how simple this thing is to use! Thanks for this!

Re: Voice to Text app?
Are you talking about TellMe..??
|
Re: Voice to Text app?
No, Voice Command. Tell me works great, no problems there. But Voice Command is much more active than TellMe. I use TellMe to text, but want to use voice command for everything else!
