I uninstalled all my themes and patches and it sees that 1.3.1 messed up my preware because I keep getting iplog errors when I try to install patches now.

it might just be that the patches are not compatible with the update yet. you might have to hold off on them and wait for an update for the patches you use. I have see this issue after some of the updates and then a update to fix them comes down the road.

Yep, patches aren't compatible and neither is mytether. I'm going to wait on the update.

i updated and reinstalled my theme and most of my hacks, just a few aren't available yet. works like a hitch and the new update seems to be running fine.

Nm...i just had to update my feeds and they all installed. So mytether doesn't work? I haven't tried it yet, but I only use the usb part; is that broken with it too? That sucks because I need that.

wow that is gay.....if this keeps happening with the pre after each update i may have to make that move to the Hero.....

Leave the pre because a homebrew app that does something(tether) that sprint doesnt even support for smartphones anymore hasn't been updated yet? Leave because palm is working night and day to provide the features and apps that we want? Leave because webOS is becoming better and maturing faster than android or the iphone os? I appreciate that palm is supporting developers by giving them the tools to create such apps that allow us to do just about whatever we want with our phones. Just be patient, tethering will be updated soon enough, how can you get mad at palm for helping us do something that our own service provider wont allow? It seems like we're never happy, can we say thank you palm for the update and not complain everytime one is released. The phone hasn't been out a year yet geez. This is a new os after all.

I agree with your post. The sad part is that the vocal whining majority says it's been 6 months, and everything should be fixed and the "new-ness" of WebOS is no longer an excuse.

I'm giving Palm till September of next year to get their act in gear or I'll switch to something else when my next phone upgrade comes up.

Mytether is already partially fix for doners BTW. There's an update for USB and Bluetooth tethering, wifi isn't working quite yet. Hopefully today.

i wasn't meaning to complain....it's just that I really rely on MyTether for school. the only reason I have really been contemplating the Hero is because it was just recently rooted, and tethering is available. however, when I played with a Hero in the store, the only things it had going for it TO ME were the stronger battery, form factor (doesn't feel like a fisher price toy), and glass screen. however, things just didn't feel as smooth on the OS of the Hero, because I would have to think about how I would go about doing what I wanted to do with it. granted, both phones are better than my old diamond, I am also kinda weary about HTC products because all of my diamonds (replacements) had a hardware issue (broken ringer, etc.) i'm sticking with the pre, it's just that there ARE other tempting phones out there (or that are coming). the GPU support and Flash are what's holding me onto the pre right now.

I think I am making the move to the Pre this morning.... I have a samsung moment and have had 4 of them with no luck. The problem with android is that it was never designed for cdma phones...

I am looking forward to just having something that works... I have developed for winmo for awhile now and I'll miss reseasing new things but I think I am ready to move on......

Any advice for making the switch???

filecoaster won't load apps on my device. Just keeps trying to load. Anyone get this to work in 1.3.1?

Palm released the 1.3.1 stuff to developers weeks ago. The mytether developer just needs to get with the program faster

I don't use filecoaster... Use preware... Mocho better in my opinion.

Thanks a lot, I've been home for a while now and installed it. So far so good, just waiting for a mytether update to use wifi tethering :)

Yes, called mytether. Wifi is not working yet with 1.3.1, so unless you plan on using USB tethering hold off for an update
