Change default today screen
 

I would like to know how you change the default windows theme permanatly thru files and/or registry.

I have Crimson's set but one you leave to sence & come back it's gone!. Grrr and you get the windows default background.

Yes, it's me again! I was trying to leave this one alone, but your persistance draws me in!

I am not sure that what you are asking, is clear enough for anyone to assist you. If you could describe your issue a little more clearly, I'm sure someone, or myself, would be glad to help you.

You said "theme" and "Background". Are you referring to the Top and bottom bar colors and selected item highlights, or are you referring to your wallpaper background? Which background are you referring to, if that is what you are asking about? The one on the HTC Sense Home screen? Or the one on the Titanium(Windows Default) Home screen? Or are you referring to the background image when you tap on the START menu?

If you can clarify, I'm sure you will get an answer.

You know when you go thru setting to select whether you want HT Sense or the windows default.

Well for the Windows Default in the titanium I want to change the windows Default to one of Crimsonsthems I downloaded couple weeks ago.

Problem is it doesn't stick. If you switch back to htsense then back to titainium crimson is gone even though you select it. Poof all you get is windows defualt. You have to uninstall, reset then install again. So I thought If i made the crimson windows default file itself It would take perm.

Can you post the crimson .cab that you installed? I may be able to better help you then.

This is the file name: rp_thm_titanium_wvga_vga_qvga_wqvga_sqvga_crimson_ darkness_1.5.cab

It is for the Titanium screen but tried to find the link and can't seem to find it. Search by file name didn't show either. Not sure it's been taken down or not. I have it but don't know how to get it up here.

Sounds questionable. To post it you would click the little paper clip symbol that you see at the top of the Reply to Thread box, while you are typing a post. Then browse to the folder on your PC with the file "BROWSE" option, in the attachment box that comes up after clicking the paper clip.

Anyway, sounds like you may want to find a different theme package. If you decide to post it, I can take a look at it and maybe see what the issue is with it.

Ok, so you are running 6.5 Right? If so, good. After looking at that theme, here are some things you should consider, before and during install.
With Titanium disabled, you should completely uninstall the theme before following these steps.

1. Make sure you’ve got SDK Certs installed First (attached at the bottom of this post), install it, then soft-reset and continue to the next step!
2. Go to Start > Settings > Today > Items , and disable the “Windows Default” checkbox
3. Copy the theme .cab to your device and run it, make sure you install it in your device and not the storage card and soft reset.
4. Go to Start > Settings > Today > Items, and enable the “Windows Default” checkbox, also select Crimson Darkness (based on your device resolution) from the list of today themes and apply.
5. Enjoy!
