New to this would like some help... please!
 

Like most people I just received my TP2 (sprint) and have been reading up on how to change and modify things on it. I am interested in the 6.5 upgrade but is it really safe to do if it's not official? Also, I don't know this tech lingo of kitchen, cab, cook etc...and am confused on how to accomplish any of it. I know how to put files on the storage card and was able to change my theme, but other than that im pretty dissatisfied with how the phone looks. Is there an easy way to make the phone look and work better? Thanks to whomever is willing to help!

I can try to help you.

The 6.5 ROM's are excellent.
This is the ROM I am running http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=79579
and it is bomb. Is that look something you are interested in?

If it is you will need to unlock your phone and then flash the rom. Don't worry because you can always go back to stock if you don't enjoy it.

My advice is to read and then ask questions if you cannot figure something out.

thanks a lot for you help, i really liked your rom, it wsa simple and something that i would be interested in. I have been reading up on how to do it, i just dont want to break my phone in the process

Its super easy. Ive gotten progressively further and further into the tweaking scene. This was my 1st flash. Its seriously just:

1.download the unlocker
2. plug your phone in
3. run unlocker
4. Download a ROM
5. plug phone in again
6. run ROM.
???
Profit!

read...learn...you've heard it all...

make sure you bookmark those "IMPORTANT" threads so you can go back to reference.

Read up on unlocking, flashing, learn how to hard reset your phone using the buttons, learn how to put your phone into bootloader mode, always have a stock ROM on your PC on standby, and wouldn't hurt to have the relocker next to your stock ROM on standby as well.

back up your data and enjoy!
