Ok... This miniTutorial is VERY damn helpful. Thankyou so much.

Along those lines, Id like some help with something else.
How can I make the Call history and Calendar disappear when there are no notifications?

Also.. Maybe reposition the appointments to fit more on the screen?

Im Very interested in this...

as far as removing the call history and calendar placeholders when there are no notifications, that could be tricky......
i could remove easily enough, but when a variable is added it get complicated. so i could make it disappear, but permanently.
maybe the creator of program will make that happen..

on the appointments fitting more on the screen? how many would be ideal?

Using what seems ur guidance, and a little knowhow, pegasus has managed to remove the notifications unless you have a missed call or a voicemail. See Here

I could ask him to do it for me... But i am more interested in the how it is done.

and when it comes to appoitments... My DREAM would be NONE on the home screen... Unless you flip it up and get the little clock. Then move the little clock all the way up and u should be able to fit at least 5 or 6 appoitments underneath. then when you flip it back down to get the whole clock, it all goes blank.

Oh.. and moving the Whole 2.1 Sense clock all alittle higher on the home page too...

I know I ask for alot, but Im more interested in HOW to do it...So I can do it for myself.

I really damn apprecaite your help though. Ive been messing around alittle in the Mode9 trying to figure more out.

I know this thread is over a month old but you can always download the cab file that Pegasus did for someone else, unzip it to a folder on your machine and then dig through the files that he's modified.

Like bignadad said on a previous page, a lot of this is/has been trial and error by a lot of people so you won't be the only one. I'm in the process of putting together a spreadsheet of as many of the 1251 manila files on my stock Verizon TP2 WWE. I'm using a combination of posts, the m9editor, manila editor and cfg gui (along with converting them all to png files, modifying the ones that convert, uploading and seeing what they change) because not all of them have "friendly names". I don't think the friendly name is embedded anywhere in the file and instead comes from the DLL or an ini file (wouldn't that be nice?)

Hopefully when I'm done I'll have graphic file sizes along with how large the actual picture should be inside of each file (not always the same thing).

I've learned a SHLOAD over just the last week by downloading things like Spike's Micneo taskbar (with MightyMike CDMA fix) and a couple of cab files that modified the look of the "Settings" and "Communications" screens. I've then taken it farther to modify the "Customize Tabs" screen to match my new custom slider. All from disassembling other peoples cab files, looking at the xml document and figuring out what manila files and/or .dlls got modified.

HTH,
DarkLight
Phone: Verizon Touch Pro 2 - WWE
ROM: Stock (Work bought it so 'no touchy the monkey!')
Tweaks: Various and sundry but mostly visual enhancements with a couple of noteable exceptions.
1) MightyMike's 1% Battery Fix for Verizon
2) No push Internet
3) Opera goes bye-bye when I close it
4) Spike's MicNeo Taskbar (Variant 3 with MightyMike's CDMA fix)

PS - Yes I plan on posting it all when I'm done. ;) I might even post my 'uber Windows 7 package'...not that there aren't enough of those already.

Can you link me to the download link to get Manila 2.6 edit please? Or does mode9 still compatible with MaxManila 2.6?

A silly question, I am sure, but no one seems to have mentioned this. When I try to copy the modified ***_manila file to my TP2\windows folder, I get an error saying I do not have permission to modify the file.

Could someone tell me plz what I have to disable/enable in order to transfer modified **_manila files to my device?

Thanks.

Well, no... I am trying to drag/drop the modified file from my PC's desktop to the TP2 \windows directory using Windows Explorer.
