TF3D Star Trek Theme... UPDATED 11/2/09

5 Attachment(s)
This was made for my stock WM 6.1 TP2. The slider, clock, and logo won't work on newer Sense UI builds.

-- Update 11/2 -- In post #2 I added a background cab for WM 6.5 users which includes the transparent top and bottom task bars. I also added a cab for keyboard sliding sounds.

I made this theme to go with my S2U2 Star Trek theme found here.

Start up animation and Windows splash screen can be found in post # 2.

If you have any other custom clock, slider, logo or wallpaper installed I recommend you uninstall them before installing any of these cabs. I decided to keep the cabs separate in case anyone doesn't want all of them installed.

The background was made with HDWall, so there is no need for the background on all tabs cab. You should uninstall it if you are already using it.

If you haven't already, you should also install CMYLXGO's flip clock enabler found here, and Lucarp78's transparent slider found here, or any other transparent slider you prefer.

Star Trek Start Up Animation...

5 Attachment(s)
The attached StarTrekStartUp cab file is for SPRINT only. If you have another carrier use the files that are included in the zip attachment.

I know there is a reg edit to add the start up animation and sound, but unfortunately this does not kill the Phoneon.wav (for Sprint). So the cab file is for Sprint only as it overwrites the Sprint specific files. If you have another carrier use the files in the attached zip. Rename them as needed and swap them in the Windows directory with Resco or any other app that will overwrite the files. If anyone using a different carrier would be kind enough to cab up the files and post them that would be neato.

These files are large, so if you are pressed for space you might not want to install them. The animated gif is over 3mb. It's from the opening of the original series. I pieced together several clips of the enterprise flying around the orange planet. The start up sound is the beginning of the original opening theme. The Windows splash screen is pictured below.

-- Update 11/2 -- The StarTrekWall6.5 cab is for those of you running WM 6.5. It has the transparent top and bottom task bars. The background was made with HDWall, so there is no need for the background on all tabs cab. You should uninstall it if you are already using it.

-- Update 11/2 -- The StarTrekKBSlidingSounds cab will add two more sound options when you slide open and close your keyboard. One consists of computer sounds and the other is the famous sliding door sound.

Pssh! I'd be more impressed if you turned TF3D into a full-blown LCARS interface!

Just kidding... nice work! :)

Thanks. I was going to do a full skin job, but since I really don't use TF3D I didn't have the patience or desire.

In case you didn't know, there is an LCARS WisBar Advance skin...

I donated to Neil a while back for the Pocket LCARS on my Dell Axim. I loved it but I've moved on because its a toy, not praticle enough for me. He is working on a WVGA mode though!

This still has the praticality and the fun looks.

Love the theme. I'm going to give it a whirl when I get my new TP2 later today. Thanks!

This would go great with the star trek communicator sound as the keyboard slider sound

I was planning on making several different slider sounds, but I never got around to it. Maybe later tonight.

No, but if anyone else wants to add to the theme feel free to to so.

The only thing I'll be adding are some keyboard slider sounds. I just got a new PC so I've been busy playing with it. Hopefully I'll have the slider sounds done in a day or two.

Yeah, but the only problem with that is it requires running ANOTHER program that uses resources. Ive always avoided wisbar myself. Even though it is a cool and good program.

Good job on the theme..

I think this could be translated without wisbar, using the .NET and xml that TF3D uses (if you ever open up a .manila file you'll see what I mean) again I'm not a programer and only state observations but I do think this could be done maybe it's time to drop Neil a line I haven't spoken to him in years

Re: TF3D Star Trek Theme... UPDATED 11/2/09

Hey,

I'm a little new at doing this, so I was wondering if anyone could provide a little help. I've got a T-Mobile TP2, but I see that most of these files (as well as the Manila files) seem to be oriented towards the Sprint phone.

Can anyone please tell me how to install these for the T-Mobile TP2?

Thanks in advance!

As long as you are running the stock ROM (the one that came with your phone), then you should have no trouble installing the cab files, with the exception of the startup cab. The startup cab contains files that are used by Sprint. Copy the cab files to your phone and run them one at a time. You shouldn't have any problems.

i think it would be cool to make a theme that would make the phone look like a next generation tricorder.
