Verizon Transparent Flip Clock

1 Attachment(s)
After not finding a transparent flip clock that would work with Verizon (without losing the Missed Calls function or the Scrolling Calendar) I created my own.

http://www.tsrmotorsports.com/Screen_1_sm.PNG http://www.tsrmotorsports.com/Screen_2_sm.PNG
Screen 1 Large -|- Screen 2 Large

This was done by taking files from these two projects:
eboelzner's thread : Found Here
sebo's thread : Found Here

Let me know if you experience any problems using this

Edit(10/5) - I included some different images that show the transparent clock better and also shows that the use of the Missed calls function and the extended calendar have not been lost.

Looks good! How can I change from the crystal clock with clear numbers to yours with white numbers?

Re: Verizon Transparent Flip Clock

you should remove any previous versions on the flip clock before installing this one. otherwise if you install both versions it could cause problems later on with the uninstall process

Thanks!!! and also dont forget to turn off tf3d before installing this.

silverkorn 10-02-2009 10:38 PM

Wirelessly posted (XV6875 Opera/9.50 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en))

it is not required to turn off TF3D before running this cab. once it has completed the install it will ask you to soft reset to have the changes take effect

Not sure why you are having problems, but I have a Verizon TP2 and I have been using Sebo's clocks for the past two weeks with no problems and no tweaks. I have tried 5 of his clocks and all have worked fine for me. I guess each phone is different

the problem is not with the clock itself, it works fine on a VZW phone. the problem is that you loose some functionality of the home tab, the missed calls does not correctly display and you loose the continued calendar

Re: Verizon Transparent Flip Clock

Why did you make a new thread on this? The ones you linked too are perfectly sufficient, more informative, and list other clocks you can use as well. What a sad attempt to gain thanks off other peoples hard work. With Ebolenezer's enabler hack that was cabbed by Chuck you can use ANY clock now as those threads point out.

i am not trying to take credit for creating this flip clock variant, and I never asked for any thanks for doing this. I only created this cab file as I personally wanted a clear flip clock that does not disable the Call History or the scrolling calendar on the home tab, which is exactly what happens when you install sebo's clear flip clock on a verizon phone.

oh and the only reason i created a new thread was to keep from thread jacking other posts.

the flip clock will work, but installing this version may disable some features on your home screen. Try using one of the clocks shown in this thread, as they were developed using sprints manila files

silverkorn this is awesome! I installed the other one and it did indeed take away the scroll part as far as making the clock small and showing the extended calender! I have a question though is there anyway you could make another cab the same way except have the numbers the same transparency as the rest and just have a white outline around the numbers? Kinda like the line thats in the middle of the part that flips?

Use the exact same transparency as you have with the flip inside the numbers as well and just have a white outline around the numbers like in the link in this post. Can you do this?

This seems as good a place as any to post these two transparent clocks. One with white numbers and one with black. Milage may vary with different roms.

Transparent clock for manila/sense 2.1
*

Links removed: not compatible, with too many roms right now.
Sorry.

santod: does the animations for the weather on the home tab still work with these clocks? those are freaking awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just to let you know. i tried this on the new mightyrom and it does not work. shows white background VERY white.

Re: Verizon Transparent Flip Clock

Yeah, the animations still work with those clocks, however I'm finding it to not be compatible with many roms. So, I have removed the links for now.

@KerryRay,

Did you install this on a Verizon with MR1 (6.5) are are you still running 6.1? I'm curious to see if Silverkorn's clock works fine under Verizon's 6.5.

I did and the numbers don't quite line up in that it will show "AM" twice on the screen.

A clock for 6.1 Verizon Rom will not work right on Verizon's 6.5 Rom.
Try these two clocks out.
One with white numbers and one with black.

The transparent flip clocks worked great. (Verizon sort-of-stock 6.5).

Any chance of the same clock with TRANSPARENT NUMBERS, too?

How do you install these? I just installed the cab, powered off/on and am not seeing it... I'm just trying to solve my missing "Missed Calls" notification from my tf3d home screen.
