I think its actually *38 to set to default and *28 followed by the # you want your voicemail forwared to

That is correct and I missed my typo before, *38 is the right one to use on Sprint.

When I do the initial dial to *38 do I have to enter any #'s after 38..?? Just wanna make sure I'm doing this correctly, cuz I had some job interviews last week and don't wanna miss any call backs lol... I did *38 and it beep beep'd twice an disconnected, than I did the next one *28850XXXXXXX and it beep beep'd twice and disconnected... Than I opened GVV and hit update and than it said Error Drawing Image..??

The 2 beeps then disconnect means it went through correctly. try logging in to your account thru the internet.. www.google.com/voice. once logged in hit settings (top right of screen), then under "phones" you'll see "forwards to" add your sprint # here. hopefully that gets it working for ya

Mine doesn't say forwards to, in the phones tab it says my GV # and under that it says Registered Phones, and my # is in there... I'm assuming it's working, my phone hasn't rang in a while so hopefully it's working lol..

In GV online under the Phone settings, make sure the box next to your Sprint number is checked. Then it will ring your Sprint phone in case you miss a call.

I don't see any box... I'm just gonna assume it's working as of now, until I get any new voicemails...

This link explains it. Basically, when you are in your google voice settings, you have to activate voicemail for a specific phone, and it will instruct you exactly what you need to dial to make it start.
