Based on what you've said, I may have found the problem. I'd left in a DroidSans .TTF file when I started from a new kitchen. I'd taken that out previously in my old kitchen that I built the 1st ROMs with.

Do you think that's it?

I would put money on it... Just not a lot of money... LOL! Try taking that out of your kitchen and give it a run!

ROMs booting up now... Assuming that this is the problem, is there a way to incorporate it in your .cab without messing anything up?

Hmmm... you could send me the .TTF file and I can take a look at it. My only concern is that it'd be time consuming to go through and add another .TTF file for every font in the library.

EnergyROMs are one of the ones that this tends to happen, and it's due to the addition of the "Calibri" font into the ROM. Since this isn't a standard WM or Sense font, my app isn't set up to replace that font. Can you check if there is a "Calibri.TTF" file in your "\Windows" directory?

Re: [APP] [UPDATE] KD-Font [v1.1.1] [08/10/10]

So removing the droidsans.ttf didn't work.

So I have:

cour.ttf
HelveticaNeue LT 35 Thin.ttf
HelveticaNeue LT 55 Roman.ttf
HelveticaNeueOTS.ttf
tahoma.ttf
tahomabd.ttf
wingding.ttf

This is after having cooked the ROM without the DroidSans.ttf file, fresh after flash.

So I got v1.1.1 all EXT'ed and ready to go. Hopefully simply removing one of these will do the trick!

I just didn't a comparative search of my old kitchen and my new kitchen and they both pulled up the same .ttf files, the ones I've listed above.

I feel like this means that one of these files is not the problem... :(
It's never an easy fix...

It could be the "HelveticaNeue LT 55 Roman". that one is not standard either. I just flashed your ROM, and I'm noticing that the Taskbar Text does not look like the WM standard font (tahoma). So it's possible that the taskbar and softkeys are using the "HelveticaNeue LT 55 Roman" font. This one also appears in EneryROMs. I may create .TTF files for this font...

I might create .TTF files for this font as well... Since EnergyROMs are widely used...

Cool, I'll remove it and see what happens...

Wait, so the Energy font is calibri.ttf? If I take another font and rename it to calibri.ttf, will that accomplish the intended effect of having another font replace the default?

As far as widely used, the thread over on XDA-Developers has 3 million views and has a new post every 15-20 minutes. :)
