umm downloaded it and installed it on my GSM TP2 and it is borked - no access to the start menu so I cant get rid of it.. Ideas anyone?

What all does this change exactly? Is there any documentation at all?

Is it just clock, background, taskbar?

Mainly, the taskbar at the top of the screen on 2.1,
but as you can see some glowing text and icons and more on 2.5 ;)

All Icons that show up at the very top of you screen on WM6.1 and WM6.5. With WM6.5.x you get icons in the bottom bar as well. This package also includes glowing icons for the Calendar, Alarm, and Call History on the Home tab in all builds of WM.
