Does anyone have a link of a tutorial that will show me what to check? I also tried *228 but it said it could not program the phone

If you have already flashed to a custom ROM and have your phone set up the way you want it to work (except for the internet/MMS of course), then you do not need to hard reset.

It's just a regular cab that you install on your phone, just like nearly every other program.

Ok I out those on my phone and installed the mms fix, but the other two would not install because it was already on the phone and could not uninstall successfully

Maybe you should check out the wikis on how to flash your phone. I'm not trying to be mean, but most of this is pretty elementary stuff when it comes to flashing your phone. It's really worth a read-through to understand what you are trying to do, why you want to do it, and most importantly how to do this without bricking your phone.

Oh, wow. Then I'd bring your phone to the guy, tell him it's not working and demand he either fix it or give you your cash back. I'd recommend getting the cash back and flashing it on your own.

That's pretty much BS. I don't have XP either and have successfully flashed both with SD cards and Vista through USB.

You don't need QPST to flash a custom ROM. As I said before, please read the wikis and guides on how to flash. Go in there with an open mind, because it sounds like someone fed you quite a bit of wrong and backwards information.

The ONLY time I ever used QPST was to enable aGPS on my phone. And it worked perfectly fine on my Vista 32-bit machine.

I downloaded a rom, dcd titan 4.1.2. If I run this and mess up, what is the worst that will happen?

The worst that will happen is your phone won't work until you get it right. Please read the wikis before you flash. You will need to update your SPL/bootloader (also known as unlocking your phone), update your radio and then flash the ROM.

DCD 4.1.2 is a very good choice. His ROMs are very fast and stable and feature a lot of free memory. I used them up until I switched to WM 6.5

I suppose I will just have to do without mms/internet since I am afraid to mess up. I had to drive an hour one way today to get this flashed. My local store wanted 75 dollars

This is the last time I'll say it, but read the wikis. You can flash it on your own for free. It is fairly simple and straightforward if you follow each step.

And I would NOT trust a store that charges $75 to flash your phone, especially one that messed up your internet.

Well, yes. DCD built very clean ROMs that you can customize on your own. Because his are clean of any extra crap, they usually have very high memory and are very stable.

Other ROMs on this site and xda-developers.com will have various customizations built-in and Today screen replacements.

You can also cook your own ROM using the kitchen from ppckitchen.org. That one will take a lot of trial and error to find what works and does not work for you.

Try flashing a different one if DCD's isn't the one for you. You don't need to do the whole unlocking or loading a radio step again, though. All you need to do is flash the ROM.

For some reason my gps is working, and i downloaded google maps and it is working. MMS isn't though. I can also get online with Opera and I have my wifi turned off so it must be using my Cricket internet right?

yes, it would be using your carriers internet then. If MMS is a big deal to you, try this program. The full version isnt free but it is well worth the minimal fee.

Try using the search tool on this page. I have pointed you in the directions to quite a bit now, and all of this stuff is already here for you.

Use the big SEARCH button, go into the Advanced Search, and search for threads with titles containing Cricket MMS. I'm guessing you will find your same problem addressed and answered a few times already.

And you won't even have to pay for it. ;-)

If you did multiple walk-throughs, then I would recommend undoing the ones that didn't work and just stick with the one that did.

You may want to try some of RyanMogul's ROMs over on XDA Developers. He's built a few specifically for Cricket that may be easier than trying to do it on your own.

I don't use his ROMs, but I believe he has already set up the carrier settings, internet and MMS for you without needing to do anything else. It should all work right after a flash.

You might want to start asking questions on the threads over there to see if someone who is more familiar with that ROM can help.

But congratulations on flashing your phone! I'm glad that you braved through it.

Wen I click on EV at the top of the screen it says Cricket Mobile Web(Dial-up), is this correct?
