Re: wm6.5 beta kitchen
this looks very enticing, im just wondering if most of the kinks are out of it.

Re: wm6.5 beta kitchen
I think it uses more RAM but is faster from what I hear.

Re: wm6.5 beta kitchen
i cant seem to find one of the files it tells you to run in the readme.
if anyone has any success please let us know |
Re: wm6.5 beta kitchen
I think this is only best if you have a second 6800 that isn't your primary. For now my 6800 ROM is pretty kicking.

Re: wm6.5 beta kitchen
Ignore the readme file. Just run buildos.exe

Re: wm6.5 beta kitchen
I am also testing WM 6.5. There are a few minor kinks I am working out, but the base OS is very stable, and does run faster. Some of the add-ons the folks threw in to increase the visual appeal are a little quirky though.

Re: wm6.5 beta kitchen
could some one post their 6.5 rom so we can try it? I cant get the one to work on XDA, just the .nbh file if you would?

Re: wm6.5 beta kitchen
I'll try running 6.5 on my other Titan when I get a chance. I'll compare it to the 20931 build ROM I'm running in my other Titan and keep you guys posted. It may take me a few days to get around to it though cuz I've been kinda busy. Stay tuned...

Re: wm6.5 beta kitchen
I'm running it on my xv6800. So far seems fast and stable. I will probably go to the DCD 4.xx rom because I can't get S2U2 to work right and there office apps have not been added yet.
|
Re: wm6.5 beta kitchen
I tried this WM6.5 Kitchen, and had to dump it after a short trial period. For one thing, it doesn't support S2U2 yet (or maybe it's the other way around). I also had a problem where the dialpad would keep coming back to the main screen for no apparent reason. Anyways, it's not really ready for prime-time yet ... but it is close.
Regarding all the comments on how a particular ROM is faster than the older stuff ... If each ROM truly WAS faster for each claimed increase in speed, by now my XV6800 would be responding to my desired commands before I even pulled out the stylus. :) I didn't notice any significant speed increase in this ROM vs. any of the other Kitchens I have used over the last 6-8 months now. One thing to keep in mind is that just like with desktop Windows, the longer you use a device, the more junk that gets stored in it - and it gradually gets a bit slower. I'll bet you can see the same speed "increase" just by reflashing the exact same ROM you've been using for the last few months (to do a little spring cleaning). Cheers! |
Re: wm6.5 beta kitchen - Works a treat!
Hey, this ROM works really well and quite snappy too. I like the new IE and it doesn't seem that slow in this ROM. I also just found cab files for the MS Office software and installed it.
Also, to fix the dial pad pop-up issue (which I've had with other roms), you need to edit the registry. Use Total Commander or PHM Registry Editor - Find the key HKLM --> Software --> Microsoft --> Shell --> ShowTitleBarClock Change the Value to 2 (Decimal) Works for me :thumbleft: |
Re: wm6.5 beta kitchen
Can you share the Office cab?
