brick

I know this is going to sound bad, but here it goes. I'll explain my situation first. My phone is a little physically damaged, I'm also having the common bluetooth, keyboard, reception issues on my Mogul. They wont replace it over the phone. If I take it into the store their going to say everything is working fine, but they aren't using it day in and day out. I know it's having these problems.

So, I'm going to brick the phone. Then they'll have to replace it. I'm cool with getting a new mogul, but dont want a refurb. I didn't pay for a refurb, so why should I get a refurb. Also, my phones only 4 months old.

So, how do I brick my Mogul? Can I just get the stock rom and unplug it when it says not to, or will the techs be able to fix that. Any recommendations please. Thanks.

I doubt that's every store. Obviously some are going to have more than others.

Any info?

Anyone else?

Please help..

It's def. much appreciated! It sounds bad, but if they'd just be willing to work with me. I have the TEP, and their still not willing to help. It's unacceptable. Like I said, if I take the phone in as is, their going to laugh at me and say theres nothing wrong.

My Mogul that was about 10 months old broke due to physical problems (upon inspection it appears that the ribbon between the motherboard and screen tore, but they don't have to know that I opened it).

Do you think they'd replace a phone that old?

Take out the battery and stuff and put the phone in the microwave for a few seconds. Then, take it to the store and tell them it worked fine when you made a call last night, but when you woke up it wouldn't turn on. DON'T GET IT WET! Liquid damage will mess you up!

I stole the following from either here or XDA; saved it for future use ;) and I think the author is Midiology:

Re: Let the Flaming Begin!! But It is bad.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

You know whats really cool in a situation like this?

If you cut a usb cable and plug it into your phone, then touch 2 of the wires to a 12 volt battery, then put the phone in the microwave for 3 seconds....

This successfully pops the rectifying diode that protects the phone from voltage spikes and reverse polarity, thus killing any abillity to connect to the phone ever again, and the microwave causes enough electromagnetic fluctuations to fry/garble the eeprom/nvram thus getting rid of any option to jtag to the phone through service solder pads to read memory...
