Ok, I have been reading and searching and trying different things to get a Standalone GPS on my XV6800.
Is it possible to do the MR1 update but then flash a GPS enabled radio from another location to have the GPS unlock?
I really don't have a clue what I am saying so if this doesn't make any since could someone explain the reasoning so that I can learn a little?

I believe what is locked in MR1 is the actual GPS driver. If you could somehow overwrite the GPS driver (which I kinda doubt), and do the GPS Unlock through QPST, you *might* be able to use it in MR1. Otherwise, you best bet is to do the GPS unlock and flash to a custom ROM that has GPS support.

Maybe I'll try this with the verizon ROM sometime this week to see how it goes.

If anyone is willing to make a kitchen from the Verizon MR1 ROM, please share with us. Otherwise, I suppose I'm going to try to handle this beast on my own.

Best way is to revert back to stock non MR1 rom then flash a custom rom like DCD 3.3.4. I did this and have standalone working great.

what radio would you recommend to use with that Rom and also could you send me the links to find the radio and rom? =D> I am getting tired of searching for things all the time...:???:

either 3.42.50 or 3.37.50 i see no difference
