dlls in buildos

OK I have been searching this for about three days and cannot find the answer unless it is way past my understanding. I would like to replace some of the dlls in a kitchen with some I modified like outres.dll, cdma_rssi_ppc.dll adn a few others that i got to work. If the patch option still works i must of messed it up and i know it doesn't work by oem. Please pont me in the right direction to change dlls to modules(sooo, imageinfo.txt, and imageinfo.bin). or can i just put my files some were so they will be cooked in instead of the ones that came with the kitchen.

I usually delete the file (looks like a folder with those files in it) and then place the new .dll in an OEM I keep to add my_files into.

That's a horrible way of doing it.

There are a few solutions to your problem:
1) patches dir. Personally, I discourage it, but it is a highly effective method for your specific issue.
2) replacement package. Duplicate the original package (same GUID), swap your files, put it in USER_OEM. Your package will replace the original package.
3) patch package. All the power of the patchdir, wrapped up as a package. Highly effective, and probably the solution of choice 9 times out of 10.

well, now all I have to do is find the folders fortapres.96.dll shellres.dll.0409.mui, shellres.96.dll, outres.96.dll, and CDMA_RSSI_PPC.dll for my personal task bar.
gguruusa could you give more detail on the patch package or a link to the post.
