Alrighty then....sucks-*** ("success" for those of you who don't speak Sarcastic-ese).
I think the kicker was that Sprint carrier file replacement EVEN THOUGH I'm on Alltel.
I followed the instructions to a TEE, made the carrier change within the PPCK to Alltel instead of in notepad, cooked 'er up, and VOILA! Booted right in.
23.79 free w/ Manilla2d (from Scott's R4RKitchen THANKS SCOTT!)

Just for completeness, lemme recap what I did:
-First, got the NueRom UNIFIED kitchen. edit: www.nuerom.com, pitch a few bucks & get a login, Downloads page three.
-Made a directory in the "Kitchens" dir called "NueRom" and put all 9 dirs from the Unified kitchen in there.
-made ALL the changes REQUIRED FROM PAGE 1
-Opened the kitchen, selected MY carrier, my stuff, left the Nue-stuff ALONE ('cept the nueFonts addition :D )
-Cooked, ignored several GUID Dupe errors, and loaded via USB.

MANILLA USERS.....
FOr those who like M2D, I got Scotts OEMs for M2D-Scott, M2DC, and Extra Themes from his R4 kitchen's OEMs & put them into the User-OEM dir; they showed up under Manila3D & load just fine.

Thanks Mikee & puff for responding directly to my stupid questions WITHOUT rolling eyes, and the rest of uze-guyz who posted symtoms & results that filled in the story.

Got this to work with one hiccup.

No GPS. I have Verzion as a carrier. I am running the HTC GPS Tool with COM4 and 4800 baud settings. It's cycling data and showing a satellite used number but not locking in.

Any ideas?

The following procedure requires the use of QPST. It is a very powerful tool and is dangerous to use unless you know what you're doing. I take no responsibility for anything you do to your device. Proceed at your own risk.

My problem, Mikee, is that I still can't get this one to boot... even using your selections stock!

The only difference is that I'm on Sprint, and had that carrier oem problem. After replacing the oem with the one from the kitchem, the error goes away. But- it still refuses to boot past the 2nd splash screen.
You use bell, right? I think No2chem's kitchen, in its current state, won't work for sprint. Has anyone here who was successful a Sprint user?

I am on sprint dishe. You are either deselecting an oem from the no2chem default selections which is causing a no booter or you have a bad oem. My phone boots just fine with what I posted in here. PM me with your exact project and I will compare for you if you like.

Cheers,

Mikee

I don't use verizon so I am not sure why its not working for you. It is working for me via sprint. Make sure you select GPSID

I tried your selections stock, didn't add or change anything, and it STILL didn't boot past the 2nd splash.

I had a talk with no2chem, and he says he's going to be updating it hopefully tomorrow...

Hopefully that will solve whatever problems people are still having.

Well if you are itching to get it to boot have a look at my last build from last week. Try it but of course remove my oem's out of the list. If it still does not boot I don't know what to say.
