Hep me clear a few Manilla2D things up.....
Whats the diff between a "Theme" & a "Skin"?
Can I use the M2D skins from the Vogue Mega-OEM- rar forum or is there an M2D specifically for each system/phone? Why can't I "see" or "add" more Manilla2D "thiemes"s...the customizer has a page for it...I THOUGHT I had more M2D themes (mabe I don't know where they are on the device? Whats the Minimu "Free Mem" my device should have to be reasonably stable....currently 7.6MB free |

As far as M2DC is concerned there is no difference between a theme and a skin... most people call it a skin, but M2DC calls it a theme. I personally like version 20 of Manila 2D the best... not only because it is the latest release but because it has some hidden tweaks that will soon be available in M2DC M2DC will only "see" the themes that you have in the "\Program Files\M2DC\Themes" folder, you can also add a new theme by clicking the "Add" button on the theme manager tab page in M2DC Minimum free memory? Not sure, I am a titan user and I ran M2D really well with DCD 3.2.6, and am running it now with nuerom3-pre3 and have never had any issues... but I don't like ot have anythign unnneccesary running |

I have both M2D & Mobile Shell with greatbal's awesome Diamond theme installed & switch back & forth. M2D is beautiful & an awful lot of fun to play with, but Mobile Shell allows you do an awful lot more things (like running Phatphinger weather panel in it's own tab) & uses less memory (M2D is really a memory hog) With nueROM3 I never have memory problems of any kind. I run it in "high mem" mode 99% of the time as I hardly ever use the POS camera. When I used dcd, it ran great but I did get "out of mem" errors & certain apps would flat out refuse to launch at times unless I did a soft reset first. I do run some memory hogging apps at startup (MSVC, Wisbar adv3 etc etc) & that is no problem whatever with nue. ~John |

mPenguin14. Thanks for the hard work. You need to make the ADD button infuse the user's brain w/ the knowledge of "Where on the device he put the themes....or where on the web he can get themes" Lemme know when you get a Beta of that & I'll test for ya. ;) Seriously though...I saw that M2d mega-pack of themes in a giant RAR in the Vogue Forum, but it wouldn't show up in my OEMizer (followed the selectection.txt instructions to a tee; no joy), and when I unpacked 2 or three for individual load, it only let me select 1 (radio-button rather than check box)....so I'm still a bit flumuxed as to where to get a group of themes that I can see in teh M2DC theme list.
jMorton I BEEN LOOKIN ALL OVER FOR YOU!!!! I read that post about back & forth, saw the awesome screen shots, decided "when I get home I'm gonna look that up & DO IT" Yessirreee.....and when I got home I couldn't find the post to save my life. ](*,) ....finally gave up....and *poof* you appear in my "I'm not really stupid, just lack knowledge" thread. :D Glad to see ya.....would ya throw me a link to that thread & any nuggets of wisdom you've thought of since???? I'll try to google that Mobile Shell thing & see how I do unless you can point me there too ;) NueRom3 eh? I saw that in the kitchen I think...looked a bit scary, but I guess I'll give er a try. I'm gettin pretty into this cookin thing...I need to decipher MortScript so I can get some of my setup automated....can't see to get an SDConfig to SDAutorun to save my life; another story for another thread.......So thanks to you both for chimin in. =D> |

Mobile Shell home http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/o...eShellhome.png TF2D home http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/TF2Dhome.png Mobile Shell weather http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/o...ellweather.png TF2D weather http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/o...F2Dweather.png I switch back & forth at will. I love the TF setup because it is beautiful & a lot of fun to play with, but Mobile Shell allows a lot more functionality. If I where going to run just one or the other, I would definitely pick MS. ~John |
