Extended ROM
 
I flashed a few months ago for the first time. All went well. As you probably know sometime during the flashing process the Extended_ROM partition was created. I am wondering:

What is the purpose of the Extended_ROM?
Is it necessary for flashing custom ROMs?
Is it necessary for returning to your original providers ROM?
Is it OK to remove it?
How would you go about removing it?
