ultimate setup??

I have tried manilla 2D & it is really fun to play with, but rather limiting in what it allows you to do (no home screen plug-ins etc). After using it until the novelty wore off, I switched to Mobile Shell with greatbal's awesome Diamond theme whichs works very well & is a lot more useful options wise.

I was bored the other night sitting around waiting for trick or treators while my Wife & 8 year old daughter where out & I decided to see if I could have the best of both worlds.

I knew I would need as much free mem as possible so I set up a nue3 system in high mem mode & restored a BU I had with Mobile shell/Diamond etc & a ton of programs already tweaked & working (including MSVC working with BT). I then installed manilla2D + the customizer & used just the minimum number of tweaks/fixes etc to get all the functions working (HTC Album/Audio Manager etc).

I already had a lot of components skinned with Poorlyducks black theme.

This setup came out incredibly well & I can switch back & forth between 2D & MS anytime I want by just unchecking one plug-in & enabling the other. This would never have worked without nue3 providing the free mem that it does. Both setups work perfectly & the only time I see the "tap here to load 2D" screen is after exiting Opera.

To be able to have today plugins. There is a program that is like a second today screen. I read about it a while ago and it was new so it probably works pretty well now.

Im gonna look for it Ill post a link if I find it.

EDIT:
Heres the link.

You have to either remap one of the keys like your comm manager button or set as a program link in your start menu.

For some reason, my 2D shots aren't showing the black bars correctly & I had forgotten to switch the clock format so it doesn't block the AM/PM emblem. Here is a newer screen shot of the 2D home screen that should look a little better:
