whats the point now?
i was just wondering since now sprint official rom includes winmo 6.1, GPS and Sprint TV whats the point to actually cook one with the kitchen? (besides u can put programs straight from it but u coud just install the cabs). I mean isn't the official firmware more stable?

Re: whats the point now?
not necessarily.
I am currently running a custom rom based off of the 20270 kitchen, and I put in all my settings and such, and I dont have any issues whatsoever. I boot with 24mb of ram and it takes about 45 seconds to boot my phone. that's something you wont have with the stock rom. plus hard resetting is almost necessary at some point on the stock rom since overtime the phone slows down, this is something I never experience with my custom, and if I ever DID have to hard reset, all my settings/programs stay because they are built into the ROM, whereas with stock, it's a huge pain in the butt to reinstall all the programs, and get all the settings right. just my $.02. I can't see myself going back to a regular rom, ever. |
Re: whats the point now?
customs give more storage and it's much faster. and some limitations of stock are not shown in customs

For VZW users, the customs are much better IMHO. |
