How long?

Ok so I am working 2 jobs and I have about as much extra time as Jenna Jameson wears extra clothes in her movies. ( in case you missed that I HAVE NO TIME!!!!)

Anyway how long does it take to unlock and cook a ROM?

Thanks

Well, I just unlocked and upgraded someone's phone in about 15 minutes. I have everything needed on a 2GB card (unlocker, radio and rom). Of course, he has to call Verizon now to get his phone authorized which will probably take longer than the actual upgrade.

but...it could take you several hours if thing don't go well....

Re: How long?

Unlock - 5-10 minutes
download and update BuildOS - 15 minutes
Flash new sprint radio - 5-10 minutes
cook custom rom and flash to phone - about 20-30 minutes

You could be slick and mutitask and do a couple steps simultaneously and the whole process would take about 35 minutes total.

Unlocking and cooking / installing doesn't take too long but remember that you'll probably need to fiddle around with installing all your other software, setting each one up, etc. Usually takes me a few hours to get everything near where I want it (I haven't yet used user customization but I guess I should). I still tweak things on a near daily basis...

One thing I've learned to do is to have all your cabs sitting on your SD card. It makes things a lot easier. Another thing I have learned is that SD card flashing is not only quicker but less likely to fail.
