stereo bluetooth headset settings!!

i have a pair of jaybird second gen headphones they work great but im looking for the settings that i need to change on my moblie to have them work at a longer range. when im inside a building they work perfect, but when i go out side and the moblie is on my waist in the case they begain to cut in and out and if i move the device up my arm just about 6 inches they work fine. is there a way to change the bitpool settings so they work at a longer distance. i just want to be able to leave my phone on my waist and still work !!
