GPS stopped working

I saw the official Verizon update and wanted to see what they added with 6.1 so i installed it. Didnt like it as much as my custom ROMs so i had to reflash and update the radio again. After doing this my GPS will not connect at all. I used to get great locks using the GPS fix with QPST posted here and now i get nothing. Any ideas?

Olipro 2.4 boot loader
Radio 3.24.50
20273 WM6.1 on Verizon 6800

I am not on verizon, but this has been discussed extensively. Check the titan upgrade forum.

You need to upgrade to a different ROM if u want to use GPS. That one disables it.

Re: GPS stopped working

Great wiki on XDA on how to accomplish:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...VerizonAGPSFix

Read the third line from the top (redirecting you to the bottom of the page) if you want to get your GPSr working on your current release.

Use search on their upgrade forums (http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=384) if you want to go back to a custom rom as it has a few steps to get VZ's borking of the GPSr off the phone...

Good luck!

Still having issues with GPS even after flashing to other ROMs. Just not getting any lock at all. Tried using the GPS viewer to prime the GPS. Also just updated to the 3.42.30 radio and still not getting any GPS luck. is there anything else i need to look at to get GPS back up? I travel a lot and really need this GPS to work. Thanks in advance.

Re: GPS stopped working

I have read the wiki actually and done all the steps. I have even unloaded the PPCKitchen and deleted all previous ROM info. I am using the ROM one step under the 20273...20270. Even when i flash this ROM the build still says 20273 which i find really odd since i never downloaded that in updater. I just wonder if by installing the official Verizon update a few days ago they may have relocked the GPS chip somehow? I admit to being somewhat of a newbie here...but I have flashed this phone quite a bit so I have a little bit of experience here.

Read the part about the MR1 update. That's you. There's a work around app that lets some third party apps use the GPS again with the new ROM.
The Verizon update locks the GPS chip so that even a flash to a different ROM doesn't help. If you want to go completely back maybe these steps will revert it for you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=421143

Re: GPS stopped working

First of all...thanks for all the links. So many of them to look at. Actually scary to say this but I think I am going to be fine with the Verizon new update ROM. What will i do if i can't flash roms anymore? I am sure there will be updates that will allow the new PRI to work with GPS...so i will probably be back.

I got GPS working with the Valhalla cab and the rest of the apps i could install manually. While this may be the wrong place to post this...i am really only missing one thing from this ROM. Smartdial with iBliss theme. Any help finding the right CABs for these would be great. Again thanks for all the help.

And my GPS got working great when i selected the intermediate GPS driver in Windows Live Search. It was working on com4 with my custom ROMs but using this setting with the Verizon ROM and the Vahalla fix gives me a lock in under 5 seconds. No more getting lost on the road!
