PRI Unchanged after flashing Offical ROM

I flashed my wife's phone right after the latest Verizon ROM came out. Then, after getting tired of waiting for Alltel to release a 6.1 ROM for my phone, I finally took the plunge and cooked up my own ROM. After getting GPS working on my Alltel, my wife decides that she wants GPS too, So I read all I could about the GPS fixes on this board and xda-developers.

Here's the weird the part - I checked my wife's phone, and she still has PRI 1.35_002. I am not sure why, because the customizations executed. After the upgrade, the phone was unable to make calls (message said it was not authenticated). I did *228, but still nothing. I called Verizon, and after some time on the phone, the tech said that he basically completely reset the phone in his system. My understanding is that shouldn't have anything to with the PRI.
I am assuming that with this PRI, I should be able to load a custom ROM and get GPS working? Or is there something else besides the PRI that I missed?

you can look in the windows folder for ppst if it was built into your rom and run it and that should update it....if not look on the forums for the correct ppst and run that and that will also update your pri

Actually, I am happy that the PRI 1.35_002 stayed (but it shouldn't have). The newer PRI that gets updated by the Verizon ROM breaks GPS.

technically, there was never gps to begin with officially, so there's no gps to break:mrgreen: and yes, the pri does nothing to affect flashing. you should be able to load radios and custom rom's at your leisure.

As has been noted by a few other people on this and other forums.... I have the new PRI on my xv6800 and I have a custom DCD rom, and GPS works fine.... Not sure why, but i have no effects from flashing the new update and then flashing back.....
