Yes, You can't flash via USB you have to do it from your microSD card, the card must be less than 2gb and formated FAT32. Start your Mogul in bootloader mode, (hold down power and camera buttons then press reset with stylus). then just follow the prompts. If this helped you, you can thank me later...lol. the Green Button that is...

Re: 3.42.50

If you flash it via RUU you have to name it RUU_signed.nbh. You should be able to flash it that way without a SD card. But the SD card is the quickest and easiest method.

Re: 3.42.50

either way you must be unlocked.

via usb you need olipro 1.2 bootloader and it will cause a hard reset.
via sd you need 2.4 or 2.47 bootloader and it will NOT cause a hard reset. this method is best for flashing radios.

You cannot use the 1.20 unlocker with these ROMs. That is an old unlocker and it is no longer compatible. He is unlocked according to his post on other threads.

I beg to differ Sir. It can be done via USB as that is how I did mine. I couldnt do mine via SD card because I didnt wanna format my card to FAT32 at the time.

You do need Olipro 2.4 and after it is installed and your phone is upgraded with it simply go to C:\ttn240mfg and change the name of Hard_MFG_SPL_2.40_RUU_signed.nbh to Hard_MFG_SPL_2.40_RUU_signed.nbh.old and copy TITAIMG.nbh into that directory and then run the RUU.

well personally i have not used this method but i have read about others doing it. they would flash 1.2, flash the new radio, then flash back to 2.4.

to be honest this is the first i have heard that you can use the ruu while having 2.4 installed.

using the sdcard is by far the easiest way.

anyway, yeah i finally got it to flash through an RUU. since it was a brand new phone, flashed olipro 2.40, then olipro 1.20, then radio 3.39, then dcd's 3.1.2. flawless, thanks for whoever suggested it.

Interesting method. does it hard reset the phone?

weedahoe 08-26-2008 12:01 AM

Re: 3.42.50

no but you do have to reboot. you have to hardreset after flashing the ROM

flyers2114 08-26-2008 01:51 AM

Re: 3.42.50

It can be flashed via RUU as long as you revert back to 1.2.....but it will cause a hard reset also.......
Also after seeing Weedahoe's method I would definetely try that as opposed to reverting back even though there is no harm.....a few less steps though....

Weed does it hard reset it?......Very interesting way of doing it.....how did you come up with that way.....

But in my opinion the easiest way is SD card.....takes about 2 minutes and no hard reset....

Sorry weedahoe, but i was curious to see if this method worked so I tried it on my girlfreinds Mogul. Like the previous user stated, it gets to 8% and crashes. Your method is inaffective, unless you left out some steps. READERS BEWARE.

That is why I was asking how he came up with that method.....if it is stopping at 8% you need to revert back to 1.2....flash radio....then put back 2.4 or 2.47......that is the only way it will work that I know of via RUU....but it does cause a hard reset.....

C:\ttn240mfg looks like the RUU directory installed by the 2.40 olipro SPL exe

Hey, Im just telling you how I did it. ;-)

At any rate, when I was new to this and was reading freaking everything everywhere I ran into thet by member c3327101 called XV6800 Upgrade sequence and followed some of these directions.

What you guys are looking for exactly though is in STEP 2
************************************************** ******************************************
STEP TWO
In the Hard SPL directory find this file, Hard_MFG_SPL_2.40_RUU_signed.nbh. rename or move it.
I just add a .DONE extension so the RUU won’t find it.
Extract this radio, Titan_radio_rom_3.42.40.zip and place the TITAIMG.nbh in the Hard SPL directory.
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...om_3.42.40.zip
Run ROMUpdateUtility.exe from the same HardSPL directory, following the prompts until it says Finish.
This updates your radio on your phone
************************************************** ******************************************

This is what I did and how I did it.

I'm sorry guys, I just bought another 1gig sd card, formatted it, loaded the file, placed phone in bootloader and stile no file image found! I'm done with this, I don't care about the hard reset so can anyone give me the original file so I can do this the old fashioned way... thanks!

did you format to FAT32? and made sure the bootloader was Olipro 2.40? and renamed file to titaimg.nbh?

charleskincade 08-28-2008 10:32 AM

Re: 3.42.50

I did all of that

weedahoe 08-28-2008 11:36 AM

Re: 3.42.50

I know I tried that also and when I had that file in the root of the SD card and went into BL mode (2.4) it would flash for a quich second to something other that BL and then go into BL mode so it was trying to do something but didnt and then I read how to it how I listed above but maybe I was lucky because others say it didnt work for me.

when i first started to get my feet wet in this area i used this method posted above. it is the least step involved flashing tut here. and it works...period.
there is the other thread that is some good reading and some really good tips on the whats and wheres to get it done, but you will also see the posts i made on thos threads my opinions on each thread--for good reasons.
one is the "advanced" thread, the other is the "novice" way to get things done.

and they both work.-i can personally confirm each one.

this hokie-pokie talk about that not being able to flash over usb is dead. it was dead when people said thanks to the o/p of the steps to flashing your phone.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i do believe this radio is actually from the touch...
That being said, you try can flashing via RUU but according to posts on XDA you might need to downgrade the SPL, upgrade the radio, then re-upgrade the SPL, which of course is a longer process. By all means though, if your willing to go the long route:

Yes i know that quote is about a different radio, but same basic concept.

Yep absolutely correct it is the radio from the Touch and from everything I read over at XDA you must downgrade the BL to 1.2 to be successful....

It is not exclusive to the Touch, it is just the latest radio for the Touch.....it can be used on the Titan....the latest radio for the Titan is 3.42.40....I have used both and they are equal as far as performance, in my opinion...

You should be able to place it in an RUU and name it RUU_Signed.nbh and flash from there

has anyone seen the need for the upgrade to .40? i read some guy saying he was in a cement bunker and getting gps. if im not adolph hitler and i wont be in a cement bunker is it worth the upgrade?

Dont forget to flash 2.40 or 2.47 after the ROM. thought i'd add that in.

as for upgrading (or downgrading to .40), ive really seen no difference between .40 and .50. i thought .40 had faster gps locks at first but it was most likely placebo. i ran both for a while and stuck with .50, it being the latest.
