Signed Carrier ROMs

I am from the CDMA carrier ACS (Alaska Communication Systems). They are on CDMA Rev A.

Iamcokeman has a rom dump of the ACS rom, but it only has stock contents. It is not signed.

How do you obtain a signed ROM? I have virgin ACS 6800, and I was wondering if anyone can tell me where the signature is kept on the phone from a carrier?

I see there are signed ROMs for Verizon, Sprint, Alltel and so on.

In No2Chem 5067, in the PPCKitchen, there is an option to choose ACS as a carrier. But none of the other ROMs has this option. How can I get ACS added as a carrier to the kitchen?

I use USCellular has my carrier in the Kitchen to build my ROMs. Data and phone works great in Alaska. But....as soon as you leave ACS's network and go to the lower 48, the phone works, but the data connection states 'Invaild username or Password'.
ACS roams on Verizon in the lower 48.

I took this 'virgin' ACS 6800 to the lower 48 and it roams on data and phone just fine. But my No2Chem 5060 built 6800 does not. Just the phone roams.

I believe it has to do with ACS customizations, but I do not know where to look on the 'virgin' phone to grab the customizations and run them on the tweaked 6800.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

You can't just grab a signature from a phone. The signing is something that the carrier does to the .nbh file that they put in the roms that are released officially. Since we make these from dumps the nbh is just compiled from the data we have and we need a custom bootloader to flash it. That is what the signature is about, maintaining control from the carrier. Nothing else.

As for the roaming it could have to do with a PRI/PRL are those versions the same between the two phones? You might try grabbing the PRL with cdma workshop i believe there are writeups on that.

looks like I left the carrier OEM out of the newer kitchen stuff. If you open the 5067 rar, you should see the carrier OEMs. Copy the ACS carrier OEM out an put it in User_OEM for now. THis should give you your option again. I will get this in the next update

btw, in Alaska in a week :D

Cool! It is a good time to come. It is sunny, clear skies, and 80 degrees out. Enjoy!
