Camera didn't install....can I manually install ?
 

Hi,

I followed the directions here and after a few hours, I got Wm 6.1, GPS w/Tom Tom and fully customized kind of like I had in my old Xv6700. Pretty awsome phone, I just got it yesterday (my xv6700 died)

When I did the build of the rom, I selected the HTC Camera (the default XV6800 camera) and it didn't install. So, I can't get it to work.

Does anyone have a link where I can download the camera program for this phone with out having to reflash everying ? (I even have all my e-mail, apps, and all installed)

Please help if you can.

There isn't a cab install for the camera, so you will need to reflash. Go into programs and check for camera there. If it is and it works you will just need to remap the camera button to work.

I checked, it's not there....

Ugh, is there a way to backup all my programs and settings, then reflash? I spent about 2 hours working on this build to get Exchange active sync, GPS, 3rd party programs, etc.

I just hate to have to do it all again so soon when I got everything working perfectly.

Or is there a way I could extract it and install it from the OEM rar files ?

The only thing you can do is use OEMizer to save all your email settings for future builds. You can also use tier autoinstall to load your programs on the first boot. You have to put the cab files on the root of the storage card for tier to install them automatically. But as of this build you will just have to start over. The upside is after you have reflashed a few times you will be able to set up much faster than you did on this first build. Look at my tutorial in my signature for links to OEMizer. It will give you a little information on it. You will need to research the OEMizer thread to learn how to use it.

If you built with nuePackage Installer you could zip up the camera oem and try to install it that way, but that doesnt always work.

Yea, I remember with my 6700, I had it down to 28 min from flash to everything setup. The 6800 is a little bit of a change. IEMizer does not look too hard to use. At 1st shot I could not get the GPS working, I thihk my testing and research took the longest.

I tried to hack it in, with out luck, so I gave up.

I build a new rom last night and noticed the camera files are there. I guess I will just rebuild, but, not today.

There are some camera zips floating around here I used to have them.....I will look on my xp computer when I get home....if you cannot wait search the site they are here....just use resco or total commander and make sure to unhide all files....then drop in the windows directory...then you can create a shortcut and remap it...
