When unlocking my phone..i used 1.2 by mistake. I downloaded sprint 2.17 installed it.. now it takes a while to boot up and when it does it stops on the windows mobile splash screen. then it says tap screen to set up device.. i tap.. and no luck no response ...

I looked and could not find this anywhere and i am sure an answer is some where..but ive spent to many hours..

my end goal is to be able to install 2.40 boot loader and go back to the standard rom for the device at this point so i can then use buildos

Did you pull the battery for 30 seconds and then do a hard rest yet?

Yes.
I pulled the battery out.. pressed both soft keys with the reset button, restored it..

I pulled the battery out.. pressed both soft keys with the reset button, restored it.. I can get it into bootloader mode. is there a way in boot loader mode to flash it to another bootloader..

No.....you need to flash a stock pre-gps rom first....then upgrade the un-locker to 2.4 Olipro or use the one in my sig.....then start over by reading the tutorial in my sig from GaMedic....you may need to flash SD method...follow the tutorial...

Yes I did put a pre-gps rom on it.. thats where it got me to this screen.. ill try a different one

thanks.. yeah just have to run out and get the right sized card ...and have to take the kids to the amusement park.. so looks like no phone today.

yes exactly what I told you.....you need to flash a stock pre-gps rom....that is the only fix at this point.....you cannot flash Hardspl to hardspl as the have overwrite protection that is not signed by HTC......

yes and I have been trying to flash a stock rom. I have tried it via the ruu and via the sd method. It does the same thing everytime. It will load it will turn on it will go through all the motions and then freeze on the windows mobile splash right before windows mobile would actually open telling me to tap screen to configure and when I tap it nothing happens. The only thing I can do is hold the power button down and it asks if im sure I want to turn off.

Did you try to hard reset it right after it starts loading......give it a shot if not....

Also lets do this......on the first screen tell me the numbers it displays on the bottom of the screen.....also enter BL and tell me the number it displays at the top......just want to be sure of a few things......

Enter BL ( I am assuming you do know because you should be doing this to flash the stock pre-gps).:mrgreen:....hold camera, power and soft reset simultaneously....tri-color screen will come up if successful...

Yes I did.. It just boots really slow every time..
I have tried every stock sprint rom pre-gps i could get my hands on and even an vzw one.. no luck..
I really appreciate all the help.. If I take it into a sprint store.. do you think they will notice a different boot loader?

Post that info.....I am surprised this is not working....makes no sense](*,).....it is very unlikely that they will notice...
