yes games are installed as .cab file there are many games up there for ppc

Sounds like you should build yourself a custom ROM and fill it with games from the free selections. (I do.)
Check out tutorials on BuildOS and ROM flashing from the PPCGeeks Kitchen. I would recommend 20270.
