Re: Step by Step tutorial for unlocking your device and cooking your own ROM!!!
hey folks,
i've been given a titan with a stock non gps radio and os rom but damaged usb port and wm5. telecom new zealand and they dont have an updated gps rom update. based on this it appears i cannot unlock this phone to upgrade the radio and os roms even via sd card method. since olipro 2.4 needs usb and nuespl 2.47 only unlocks stock gps enabled roms. anything at all that i can do?? |

Re: Step by Step tutorial for unlocking your device and cooking your own ROM!!!
that's exactly what i was thinking :-)
i already have a titan upgraded to a 3.3x.xx radio and 3.x rom and managed to get this broken titan so thought ill use the broken one as my test phone for flashing and testing software etc. looking at the usb port, i think one of the pins has become misaligned.. one of the guys in telecom (the new zealand carrier) said the whole pcb has to be replaced.. i was like wtf? surely the pin can be just re aligned? he seemed to think not.. but then again his knowledge of a titan is probably the same as the shop brochure.. the whole pcb replacement thing to me sounds stupid.. seeing as the usb part is right at the end of board.. the rest of the phone works perfectly. ive emailed olipro via xda so hoping he can offer a suggestion to unlock via sd card |
Re: Step by Step tutorial for unlocking your device and cooking your own ROM!!!
Alright, I read through the entire thread, and did not see my question answered. Maybe someone can help. The write up, and guide are awesome. Before this I was using one of DCD's ROMs, but there had always been a couple of things that I wanted to be a little different, so I wanted to give this a try.
I had no problems building my ROM, and getting it put on my phone. A number of programs will not launch. When I attempt to launch the programs on my phone, I get an error that says, "The file 'FILE NAME HERE' can not be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its componenets cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file." I ge the error on some programs that were part of my ROM install, and on some that were not. On some programs (S2U2 Settings, for example), it will give me the error the first time I try to run it, but not after. On some programs (HTC Home Customizer, for example), I have never been able to get them to run. I have rebuilt the same ROM over and over, I have changed selections in the ROM, but nothing seems work to resolve the issue. All of them have been built using No2Chem 5067. Maybe I'll try selecting a different BASE to see if I still have the same problem. Does anyone else have any other suggestions? |
