I usually do not get EVDO while roaming.

I don't roam often so my experience is limited, but I don't get EVDO when roaming on Verizon in Philadelphia (in low Sprint coverage areas like usually in buildings), but I DO get EVDO roaming while in Canada (via Bell I'm assuming).

With no modifications to my phone and running the latest stock rom.

For Sprint Mogul 6800

To get a "Roam Only" option on your Mogul 6800, do the following in a RegEdit Program.
Get A Reg Edit Program Here: http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/RegEdit/

Step 1) Start your RegEdit Program and navigate to the following string:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\InitProv\PhoneSett ing

Step 2) Change ItemCount to 3 (was 2)

Step 3) Edit (lower left side of screen)
New string: ItemName3
Value= Roaming (you will add this)

Step 4) Edit (lower left side of screen)
New Dword: ItemValue3
Value= 3 (you will add this)
