I much prefer DCD's roms to PPCKitchen and no2chem's stuff.

There's just so many bugs in their recent builds. And it seems that ppckitchen and no2chem care more about integrating no2chem's apps instead of fixing those bugs, without making the options to remove those apps if you don't want them.

Kind of defeats the purpose of a kitchen I think.

Uh, no.

What bugs are you referring to? We try to fix all bugs.

You can remove any of no2chems apps that are non-critical. Some of his apps are modifications of required apps - those you can not remove and nor should you need/want to.

Bugs like certain programs not functioning with the new builds, the top task bar not showing up or disappearing, the extra space at the bottom of the screen that can't be used. The app buttons not being mapped. Various other bugs that pop up and stay between builds. I know that some of these require a lot more research and fixes than normal because they've been ported from other devices, but it seems the time is being spent otherwise on integrating nue apps into WM (and not allowing them to be removed) that don't appeal to all users.

Upon using DCD's kitchen and previous builds of ppckitchen, I have never needed to use his modifications of critical apps. The phone has functioned fine and I don't see why they MUST be included in the final product other than gaining some street cred. The purpose of the kitchen was to allow users to customize what THEY wanted to add into their ROMs, not be forced to use someone else's program because it was deemed necessary for their benefit.

I have always appreciated your work and I still do, but I feel that it's gone a little downhill. The kitchens are being released with many obvious bugs relatively quickly, compared to the initial released of the Titan kitchen, which was supposedly highly tested, and forcing users to use apps they may not want, regardless if they're essential modifications.

Not attacking anyone, but that's my opinion and that's why I've moved to DCD's offerings.

Just to give you a heads up I have noticed with Trend Internet Security Pro (2008 version) that it keeps flaging the ppcgeeks.rar and sometimes the 000_shareware.rar saying it is infected. Since I do most of my flashing on a machine that is not for daily use I just disable Trend. In case you have not gotten any other reports of this I thought I would mention it. Might just be a problem with those files and Trend cannot confirm any other scaners though.

If I had a dollar for every false positive that Trend has ever thrown, I'd have enough money to go buy a REAL internet security application...
