Whats Needed To Tether In Vista?
 

Ok, I cant get internet with a real service provider at my house right now cause I just moved into a new neighborhood. The only computer I have has vista....so, what do I got to do to get it to work with vista?

also, I have never needed to tether before. I have used wmwifirouter a ton for work on my laptop, but I cant take my laptop home :( Im pretty sure I need to edit these reg keys, right? What else will I need to know to tether? Gotta know everything before I leave for the weekend...cause I cant like, check back here without the internet ](*,)

also using official 3.56 rom right now

Delete this string: Extension - isext.dll

HKLM\Comm\InternetSharing\Settings\ForceCellConnection
Change from "Phone As Modem" to "Sprint PCS" <<NO QUOTES

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\InternetSharing\LastCellConnection
If it displays "Phone as Modem" change it to "Sprint PCS" <<NO QUOTES if it does not already say "Sprint PCS"

Then, using Schaps Advanced Configuration tool V2.1, disable the Phone as modem connection completely. Your phone will now connect to "Sprint PCS" for internet sharing and you will be good to go. Sprint will be none the wiser.

Well.you really don't need to edit anything actually. I have a wing, all you really need to do is go start>programs>accessories> click internet sharing. The defaults are already selected and hit connect. I think you then connect the phone to your computer and it should work.

even with vista? I dont need to add any drivers for vista to work properly? I mean, when I get home I wont have internet anymore....so everything I need, I need to put on a thumbdrive before i go.
