Where to remove "Phone As Modem" in new ROM
 

I loaded the new offical 3.56 ROM and installed WMWifiRouter software,when it runs,it tries to connecting through "Phone As Modem",even though I setup the program to use "SprintPCS",but I don't see "Phone As Modem" entry under "Manage Existing Connections" on the phone,where do I need to go to delete "Phone As Modem",i don't want Sprint detects me tethering since I don't have "PAM" in my account,can someone help?

To fix internet sharing, get a registry editor (PHM Regedit is the one that I use and its free) then apply this change.

There's a new way you have to do it now.

HKLM\Comm\InternetSharing\Settings

Change ForceCellConnection from Phone As Modem to Sprint PCS.

Then just make sure you're connected to data on the phone before clicking connect in Internet Sharing - like launch PIE to get an active data connection.

You only need to apply this fix once... just make sure you wait about 15 minutes or so before soft resetting or the change might not be committed to memory.

Actually I'm a total idiot! The CAB I made and incorporated into the zip file only addresses the SPCS roaming issue in this ROM! Very sorry, my very stupid mistake!!!!!!!!

In fact I am trying to make a CAB which will fix the tethering issue using reg edits but have not yet figured this one out. Apologies in advance for this blunder, please forgive me!!!!!!

Get and install PHM Registry Editor.
Then navigate to:
HKLM\Comm\InternetSharing
and delete the string: Extension - isext.dll
Then to:
HKLM\Comm\InternetSharing\Settings\
and change "ForceCellConnection" to "Sprint PCS"
Wait a few minutes, maybe 5 just to be sure. Then soft reset the phone!
