Who has the most Program RAM
 

With all the different variations of ROMs that are being run, I was wondering who has the most available RAM at startup and what ROM they were using. I have a little over 22Megs using the stock 6.0 ROM.

some of no2chem's roms have given me as much as 28 megs before installs. I guess Dash would be the correct answer though lol. He took apart his phone, and soldered extra memory into the damn thing lol

I think there's a WM5 ROM floating around here with somewhere around 30MB free at boot :D but it's probably not what you're looking for. I get about 25MB free on DCD's 3.2.2.
I'm not sure that story is true. Do you have a link to his posts proving he really did that?

While the ROM itself will have a significant effect on free memory, your pagepool setting will also affect memory. Setting the page pool at 8 MB might give you 23 MB free, but the same ROM at 6 MB will give you 25 MB. So it's best to include the pagepool number. I think I am at 23MB free with no2chem prev8 and a 6 MB pagepool after everything loads at boot (MSVC, ultimate launch & batterystatus).

no2chem 5067 wm6.1 for me always buts at about 27mb...not bad at all...
BUT by the end of the day (with this memory leak on mogul) i end up with abou 18mb...

it would probably be cheaper to just buy the touch pro in a month lol. I talked to a sprint rep and she said end of july they should have it, and third party venders (radio shack, bb, etc.) should get it slightly sooner. Though we know how following what sprint reps have gotten us on the forums lol.

What's with this memory leak anyway?! I've noticed it on my phone too, I don't understand why the longer the phone is on the less RAM that is available... i don't have anything more running than i did at boot?!

Gotta thank M$ for that... You gotta remember this is software coming from a company who believed at one point in time that 640K would always be enough.

Memory leaks don't stop at 18. They stop at 0.

What you are seeing is an effect of memory management, not a leak.

Put it in flight mode, disable all alarms/reminders, and don't touch it all day...I bet it has the same memory at the end of the day as you started with. When you do things with your phone, even simple things like scrolling the today screen, lots of things happen behind the scenes that can consume memory. Reduced memory does not necessarily mean a "memory leak". A "memory leak" is when repetitively doing the same action results in less an less memory available, ultimately consuming all memory.
