Bootloader upgrade w/o Activesync?

Is there any way to change the bootloader to 2.4 or above without using activesync?

My Alltel 6800 is stuck in bootloader version SPL-2.07.000 and I can't seem to do anything about it. The titan_exitbl.exe file doesn't work other than to reset the device back into the bootloader. I'm pretty sure upgrading to the lastest ROM from Alltel (3.35) may have been the culprit. I didn't realize I needed a version 2.4 bootloader for the GPS roms... but hell, I didn't know any of this and was just upgrading from a stock older Alltel ROM to their latest stock ROM! It shouldn't have crapped out the device, but it did.

Re: Bootloader upgrade w/o Activesync?

True, but I think the problem is that the stock Alltel 3.35 ROM doesn't load properly if the bootloader is less than version 2.4... When I installed it, it upgraded my bootloader to 2.07. I read elsewhere that no GPS-enabled ROM (i.e., 3.35) will work without a bootloader of version 2.4 or above...

So either something is wrong with the device itself, or HTC didn't make their 3.35 upgrade file properly, and neglected to put the right bootloader in.

The problem is that you need to be in the OS in order to run the nuspl and upgrade your bootloader...

...is there any way to upgrade the bootloader from the bootloader?

Well that's just it... I can't get to the OS. All I can get to is the bootloader. I can flash it over and over again with the ROM I have, but it won't leave the bootloader. I can't load a custom ROM because it.s SPL-2.07. I can't load a different bootloader because you have to be in the OS. I can't be in the OS because you need a different bootloader.

Maybe this thing is bricked.

Alright, I guess I need to send it back. Maybe the replacement won't be so temperamental.

you sure you are flashing the complete exe of the rom? it will reset the device a few times. You shoudl extract the 90+mb nbh file and flash it via fat32 sd card as TITAIMG.nbh
