I apologize if this has been posted already, tried to do a search...i was trying to see if this gps fix is necessary? or how much it helps...

i dont have to much trouble locking on to gps, takes a couple minutes while standing still, but quicker when moving fast...wanted to see if it drastically would improve

If I remember correctly this improved the speed that the GPS makes an initial lock by using the phone network to identify location i.e. assisted GPS. I thought I installed a cab a while back to do this. In all the recent no2chem Roms (and Sampsons WM5 with GPS/bluetooth based on No2chems work) I have had the rapid GPS lock with about a 5 second cold boot to GPS lock. Not sure if this is needed anymore, unless the plain vanilla Sprint Rom does not address the issue.

Re: Titan GPS Fix?

No, this does not use network assistance. This fix speeds up sat locks for non Sprint customers (due to the fact that Sprint is the only network that provides aGPS).

If you know what you're doing and can follow directions, I highly recommend using this fix. It is still needed for all other carriers, regardless of Rom/Radio.

I installed DCD3.2.2 and I am not sure if this has GPS enable or not. I installed google maps and when I select use gps and the phone doesn't find any satellites. What am I doing wrong? How can I tell if I even have GPS enabled? I have searched and I cant find any answers. Thanks in advance

Use Holux GPS Viewer http://www.s0.cn/drivers/2007/HOLUX/...sViewer1.5.zip
Change the Com port on boot to COM 4. You need to do that each time unless you copy the replacement file provided here..... http://rapidshare.com/files/87097363..._COM4.zip.html

I realize this "fix" is for non-sprint customers, but I followed this process a few weeks ago, and my settings were already as described.
