I think that would be the ultimate rom....

A little more memory will always be welcome. Come on No2chem...

Cool Re: WM5 + GPS Working + Bluetooth

I flashed the new Sprint Radio onto the phone and then upgraded back to WM6 with the Kaos Rom (based on a stable No2chem 5067). Booted nicely to 25 megs of memory, but did not seem to run fast with a 6 meg pagepool, in comparison to Sampsoms WM5 (with BT, GPS). I tried an 8 meg pagepool, but lost all the memory that I started with. No improvement over the WM5 Rom that I was using.

So I flashed back to this Sampson WM5 Rom and regained all the speed, better memory management (IMHO) and excellent stability. Will continue to wait and see if a decent WM6 rom appears. I am surprised that more people have not started using this Rom.

Re: WM5 + GPS Working + Bluetooth

so what are the little features of wm5 that we are going to be giving up?
Threaded sms has become very important to me at this point, can the 6.1 sms cab be used?
Does opera work?
Is rev-A up to speed?
Does gps still connect in about 10 seconds?

What are we losing from doing this? (i'm thinking of flashing this afternoon.)

1. I don't know...
2. Opera 8.65 works great
3. Should be... If you are using the current radio since all of the drivers are the latest tytin drivers except bluetooth.
4. Yes!

1. https://home.comcast.net/~codyppc/WM6_threaded.zip WM6 threaded sms app works fine
2. Opera works well
3. Rev A speeds are the same as with WM6/6.1
4. GPS connects as fast (within 10 seconds)

I do not think you are losing anything. I switched from the cutting edge No2chem roms due to all the problems, and have been happy. My one short switch to the Kaos 6.1 Rom made me go right back to WM5 and I am still happy.

Re: WM5 + GPS Working + Bluetooth

yea, i mus agree, this wm5 rom had stepped up to my favorite at this time.

I use Vito Threaded SMS for threaded texts and it works flawlessly.

I also couldn't get the date on the today screen to go 1 line, rather then two. i'm using a today plugin by the name of lvmtime for the one lined date now.

Cool Re: WM5 + GPS Working + Bluetooth

The only thing that might tempt me to switch away from the WM5 Rom is an upgrade to the HTc Diamond on Sprint later this month (or the next). With the new Rom update on that phone the interface seems to fly. I am sure some of the tweaks being used on the Mogul have found their way into HTC's programmers hands. I would not be surprised if there are a number of regulars from HTC trolling XDA and this forum.

Re: WM5 + GPS Working + Bluetooth

This is amazing. My phone is working almost flawlessly pairing with my car and the car can even control the music with the stereo controls. It is running super fast and I love it. I am having a few bugs though.

Tethering- only seems to work occasionally, i played around with the PC to USB settings but can't seem to get it to work all the time. This is a problem as it is my main source of internet. Anyone else having these issues?

The wireless manager button doesn't go to the 10 button version. I can go to it by clickin on setting but I can't get the button to do it. Ideas?

I also have to dig back to my wm5 programs as i am used to using BuildOS and had no need for them. Anyone have LVMtime and hide battery?
