is it possible to add CE components like smbserver to WM6.1?
 

ive been looking everywhere for a way set up a fileshare from my phone -> computer over wifi.
i dont want to use FTP, im looking specifically for windows file sharing...

i know CE 5.2 itself can have this installed when youre building an image.
so is it possible to add those same OEM components to WM6.1?

The new remote desktop client will map your phone's files when it is connected - will this work well enough for you?

this may sound like a dumb noob question, but other than having the remote desktop client built into ur rom, what else is needed in order to use remote desktop on my ppc. I have used logmein on desktops but was wondering if there is like a tutorial on this or anything?

I have posted some information on the regular titan forums (it is near the bottom of the front page right now probably to the 2nd by the time you get this) but basically it involves forwarding the port on your router (if your computer doesn't do it automatically through UPNP), enabling remote desktop on your computer, and connecting to your external IP address....

total commander ce can mount/access a windows/smb file share so you can copy stuff to/from the phone - I use it all the time. Only down side is you have to use the phone. Activesync lets you browse the phone from a pc, but then you've got to have it hanging off via USB....

thanks for the suggestions, but thats not what im looking for.
both of those are clients from the phone.. i want the phone to be the server.

but more importantly im just really curious about the whole relationship between CE and WM and if it is possible to add components like this.
