NoChem 5067 Stopped Recognizing USB
 

Searched USB every which way, but can't track down discussion as to why mini usb to usb no longer is recognized by any platform nor is USB battery charging possible anymore. Pretty sure it worked for quite a while after 5067 then it just stopped. As I reset often, it could be a result of other software, i.e. Opera 9.5, Skyfire, Netfront 3.3 & 3.5, WiFiRouter, etc. In the past I would just reflash, but without USB, I'm SOL. Like to think this has already been addressed but am at a loss to locate where. Device usable thanks to desktop charger that works, but will probably have to address it by getting a new one eventually if no one gives me a clue. Just thought it might be worth giving it a try before calling and saying my mini USB port has stopped working. Thanks in advance.

Sounds to me like this isnt rom related at all.

You may have bent the gold pins in the usb port. Unfortunately that means you must do an insurance claim. I have had windows not recognize a phone properly because of a rom but not charging.......

Ive had and seen this happen to active sync and not recognizing it, but when it doesnt charge, that most likely means its the actual connection, sorry. Like omegax said, see if you can carefully look in side the usb at the little gold pins. also try another usb cord, may be that cord or the usb on the computer. oh, and when you say desktop charger, you mean the battery charger i assume?

if you do get a new good through insurance, make sure u erase any record of the OS... go ahead and drop the phone in a bucket of water

by charger I mean the desktop device that lets you charge a spare battery at the same time you are charging a phone. Two different USB to Mini USB chords with several different PC's get same no USB recognized result nor illumation of charging light. Going straight off charging plug will initially illuminate charging light only to return later and find it back off. Your presumption of hardware issue (assuming I understand that the power pin may work but its the USB pins - communications and charging that are broke) is good to hear as I was assuming I would have to buy another one if it was alleged my tinkering with it was the cause of the problem. Thanks in advance for any further insights.

my last one died the same way.
i was using wmwifi router, trying to stream from hulu to my laptop. my speed wasnt quite good enough, so i got up to check my signal.
the phone was super hot, so i just turned it off and went to bed.
after that, no usb anything and i had no other way to charge, so i had to get replacement asap
