Post Flash Problems: Dialer won't recognize # codes, PIE displays .CAB files as text

Okay, I tried doing some searching before posting this, but I'm not finding anything concise.

I cooked my very first recipe last night and after some cache modifications from "Hai-Zi's Hack Manual", I'm absolutely flying compared to my stock WM6.0 rom.

I seem to have hit a couple snags though:

1) I still have the older radio, not the new one released in the past week or so. Was I supposed to flash with the newest Sprint ROM before cooking?

2) I'm not getting any animated gif when I start up my phone; not a big deal, but I liked what I saw of the animation.

3) The dialer doesn't recognize # codes, so I can't get into the advanced settings for the phone.

4) When I go to download a .CAB file through PIE (Portable(?) Internet Explorer), instead of asking me if I'd like to save/run the .CAB, it ends up displaying the .CAB file as a webpage full of junk characters. .ZIP files work just fine.

Below is the selection text file from BuildOS that I used to put it all together.

I really appreciate any help.

Sprint Mogul w/ 3.35.04 radio.

when you say 'older radio' which version do you mean ? the stock radio?
and what kind of device do you have ?

yes you should probably upgrade the radio to at least the 3.35 flavor.. I think No2's 5067 even has a requirement that it be at LEAST 3.35..
wouldn't hurt to do a full re-flash at this point, since it appears you have a couple of issues.

It's the Sprint Mogul (6800) with the 3.35.04 radio. Aside from the dialer and .CAB saving issues, it works awesome.

oh, you should be fine then, radio wise..
yeah, that Vogue dialer won't do it for you. many of the custom dialers will lose you the ability to dial the # codes..
don't know if this is your first time flashing or not, but it will take you a few times to get the kinks out -- what progs work well together, and what don't.. Dialers for the Titan that keep the original functionaly are the Blue Frog dialer (or something like that).. you can find it as a cab somewhere..
i'd recommend a reflash and leave out the Vogue Dialer.. just keep it stock, then you can experiment by finding some dialer cabs to install, and UNinstall (cooked in, you can't uninstall)

as far as the PIE/Cab issue, thats a weird one..... can't imagine whats up there.....

It's probably just the website that you are downloading the cabs from, there is a setting at the server level that tells the server how to offer the files with the .cab extension. If it is set wrong cabs get served as text.

If that is all that is happening, then just wait till the page is fully loaded, click 'back', and use a file explorer to find the cab file in your internet cache directory (view by date decending to find the file quickly).

Hope that helps you.
