Isn't internet sharing suppose to be under settings-connections? I do not have the icon for it with the new rom. Or, am I just dumb@ss, and that is not where it was located?

I have plenty of apps installed on my mogul along with spb mobile shell 2.1. I use sprite backup and always have a copy handy in case of problems. Now if I go ahead and update to this new rom version, will I be able to restore my backup version without having to reinstall all my apps?

Does this really make any difference, if we have already deleted the Extension key in HKey_Local_Machine\Comm\InternetSharing ?

Short answer: No

You can also edit the new key, to always use SprintPCS thus you wouldnt hafta delete the 'extension' key...

I am having problems with Sprint E-mail Push. My phone starts to freeze once I install the push email from them with a new ROM. Do anyone have same kind of problems, and if so please someone help. Everything seems to work pretty smooth except that part. Thanks

What was the value of that key this time?

I don't think it is included in the new ROM. They went the route of just forcing the Phone as Modem dialing profile this time. You can edit the new ForceCellConnection string value under HKey_Local_Machine\Comm\InternetSharing\Settings to say "Sprint PCS," or delete it entirely to get back the option to switch within the Internet Sharing app.

I'm curious because deleting that extension key was one of my checklist items for restoring after a rom flash. The part that bugs me is I deleted it w/o looking at it too closely and I don't think it contained the name of the dll we were used to seeing. Pretty sure its something else now. Can anyone peek in the registry and verify?
