Verizon GPS Software

Outside of Google Maps and Live Search is there a GOOD free GPS program to use with Verizon? I would have to assume that using sprints telenav won't work unless you are on the Sprint Network. Even "acquiring" Tom Tom, I can't find the North American map. My wife and I are set to go on our first long road trip with our son and having a decent GPS Service would be key.

Many don't like it but I use Nav4All (www.nav4all.com). Not very graphic and its not meant to be but its free, gives turn by turn directions in any language you can imagine, and very accurate. Steep learning curve as poor documentation. The reason its not very graphic (it will show you a graphic of the road you're on and the upcoming turns but NOT a moving map) is that the government of the Netherlands (where the prog is from) proved a higher accident rate with the moving map programs (like TomTom and others) and has moved to make them illegal! Also, Nav4all routes away from residental areas automatically which they call "Kid killer routes" if possible. Needs a primer prog to turn on the GPS (like GPSToday or others). I've used it for months now and it hasn't let me down on the West coast or in Tennessee and has the entire world mapped. Of course YMMV.... Good Luck!

Hm... Initially I installed the incorrect version and it wouldn't find the GPS. It installed in Java and thats not the correct version. I then went to the site from my phone and installed from there and it worked correctly. FYI the file named was InstallNav4AllWM6.cab. You do have to have the primer on 1st, then in settings check Internal GPS.

There is a known memory leak if you exit the program it won't free up the memory used so "tab" out of the program with the OK key and then kill the process from one of the Task Managers out there to free up the memory...

Hope this helps!
